About Us

In 1891, George W. Mallory invented an ingenious device to keep a screen door closed at his family’s farmhouse.  Although the door holder worked extremely well, George set out to make improvements so that it would be durable and easier to manufacture.  Several variations were perfected and patents were soon granted.  As demand for his door holder grew, George moved his workshop to the nearby town of Blenheim, Ontario in 1914 so he could secure electricity to operate machinery.

The door holder and related products established Mallory as a leading manufacturer of builder’s hardware.  Even in these early years, the company’s exceptional products received popular acceptance in markets as distant as Australia.  Its expertise in metal stamping and assembly operations was also applied to the production of sponge mops and other quality cleaning products.

The business continued to expand and in 1950 was incorporated as Mallory Hardware Products Limited.  The company outgrew its premises and in 1957 relocated to its present location in Blenheim - a foundation for its ongoing expansion and modernization.

Consistent with the company’s move away from builder’s hardware, the name was changed to Mallory Industries Inc. in 1986.

Mallory’s growth has also come through acquisition. In 1991, the assets of the Weller Company, a leading manufacturer of squeegees and snow brushes in the U.S., were acquired.  This business, combined with Mallory’s existing U.S. business, formed the basis of Mallory USA, Inc.  By remaining in the Sioux City area, Mallory retained a team of skilled employees and established itself close to the geographical center of the United States.

This significant venture was followed by another acquisition in 1993 when Mallory acquired the assets of Brushcraft, a leading Canadian manufacturer of car wash brushes, snow brushes and ice scrapers. This undertaking helped Mallory consolidate its market position in Canada.

Driven by its commitment to quality, service and competitive prices, Mallory has continued to invest in its team, facilities and systems.  In 2006 alone, the company has completed a major expansion of its engineering, molding, assembly and warehousing facilities.

Responding to consumer’s need for safety and convenience, Mallory has become a noted producer of telescopic handles to complement its line of squeegees, brushes and other cleaning tools.
